Terms
Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of brewmasters.pro and services provided by BrewMasters Inc., a Nova Scotia corporation with Business Number 845678901NS0001, located at 1675 Lower Water Street, Suite 412, Halifax, NS B3J 1S9, Canada. By accessing our website or using our taste-profile matching services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Service description
BrewMasters operates a specialty coffee taste-profile matching service. We provide interactive flavour quizzes, personalized bean recommendations, a curated roaster partner shelf, and related educational content about specialty coffee, coffee roasting, and extraction methods. BrewMasters is not a restaurant, coffee franchise licensor, food delivery platform, marketing agency, or generic e-commerce operator unrelated to roasted coffee.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least eighteen years of age or the age of majority in your province or territory to create an account or purchase paid services. By using our services, you represent that you meet this requirement and that information you provide is accurate.
3. Account responsibilities
If you create a matcher account, you are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized access at [email protected]. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.
4. Matcher results disclaimer
Taste-profile matching produces subjective recommendations based on quiz responses and partner roaster data. Flavour profile matches reflect sensory assessment — individual results vary with grind setting, water chemistry, roast level, equipment, and preparation technique. BrewMasters does not guarantee that any recommended bean will meet your expectations in every brew session.
Our content covers specialty coffee taste matching, personalized bean recommendations, and cupping context for informational purposes. We do not guarantee specific business, employment, health, or financial outcomes from using our matching service. Green coffee and roasted coffee should be handled and stored safely.
5. Pricing and payment
Indicative C$ price ranges displayed on programs and services pages are subject to change without notice until confirmed at checkout. Applicable taxes (HST/GST/PST as required) are added where applicable. Subscription services renew according to the billing cycle selected unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refund terms are described on our FAQ page and incorporated herein by reference.
6. Partner roaster transactions
Bean purchases through partner links on the roaster partner shelf are transactions between you and the partner micro-roastery. BrewMasters facilitates matching and referral but is not the seller of record for partner inventory. Partner terms regarding shipping, returns, and product quality apply independently. Disputes about partner fulfilment should be directed to the partner roaster first; we may assist with communication but assume no liability for partner performance.
7. Intellectual property
All website content, design, matcher methodology descriptions, logos, and original text are owned by BrewMasters Inc. or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without written permission. Limited personal use of matcher results for home brewing is permitted.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse the website through automated scraping beyond reasonable personal use; attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts; submit false quiz responses intended to manipulate matcher outcomes commercially; impersonate BrewMasters staff or partners; use the service for unlawful purposes; or misrepresent BrewMasters as a restaurant, franchise, or food delivery operator.
9. Studio visits
Halifax studio appointments are subject to availability and house rules communicated at booking. Studio sessions cover matcher onboarding and cupping context — not restaurant dining service. We may refuse service to individuals who violate studio conduct standards or present safety concerns.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nova Scotia and Canadian law, BrewMasters Inc., its directors, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of our services, including but not limited to dissatisfaction with flavour matches, partner shipping delays, or equipment damage from home brewing activities.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of services shall not exceed the amount you paid to BrewMasters in the twelve months preceding the claim, or C$100, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in such cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BrewMasters Inc. from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of services, or infringement of third-party rights through your conduct.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nova Scotia for disputes not subject to mandatory arbitration clauses below.
13. Dispute resolution
Before initiating legal proceedings, parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution by contacting [email protected] with a written description of the dispute. If unresolved within thirty days, either party may pursue remedies in Nova Scotia courts. Nothing prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief for intellectual property violations.
14. Modifications
We may revise these Terms by posting updated versions on brewmasters.pro with a new effective date. Material changes affecting paid subscriptions will be communicated via email where practicable. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance unless you cancel affected paid services before renewal.
15. Severability and waiver
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, remaining provisions continue in full force. Failure to enforce any right does not constitute waiver of that right.
16. Force majeure
BrewMasters shall not be liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, labour disputes, internet infrastructure failures, government actions, or supply chain disruptions affecting partner roasteries. During force majeure events, subscription shipments may be paused and studio appointments rescheduled without penalty.
17. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. BrewMasters may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all assets, with notice posted on brewmasters.pro. Continued use after assignment constitutes acceptance of the assignee as the new service provider.
18. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any order confirmation for paid services, constitute the entire agreement between you and BrewMasters Inc. regarding use of brewmasters.pro. They supersede prior oral or written communications on the same subject matter.
